Progression is something all musicians (should) strive for. It’s not always easy to motivate, but when surrounded by those who’ve been there every step of the way, it brings together ideas and mentalities that help pave the way. Such is the case between the five gentlemen who comprise Nightbox. After meeting each other in school in 2010, the Irish five piece headed to Toronto looking to develop their sound and make their mark. It didn’t take long before they released a self-titled four track EP¬†produced by Sebastien Grainger of Death From Above 1979, and Al-P of MSTRKRFT to rave reviews.nightbox

Since their initial EP, Nightbox has experienced a whirlwind of attention and have toured festivals in both the U.K. and U.S. Since then, the lads have returned to the studio to cut a full length album working once again with now friend and producer, Al-P.  They recently released two tracks from the upcoming debut: Utopia and Burning, that stay true to their indie pop foundation but incorporate electronic elements that elevate each track to new heights.

The band has created a series of teasers building anticipation for the release of their debut album. Watch the latest in this series of images and sound that kaleidoscopically capture the bands aesthetic.

Nightbox performs for Check Yo Ponytail 2 on August 20th in support of Escort, Pharaohs, and Secret Circuit at the Echoplex. Purchase your tickets for the show below and come out early to catch this fantastic band!
