Got a couple random new videos of ACID GIRLS and DESIGNER DRUGS playing live!
First up is DESIGNER DRUGS. This is a short compilation from their recent west coast tour that previews a new and upcoming track (that is SO good).
Next up is a live video from ACID GIRLS playing last week in LA. It was a show w CLASSIXX to celebrate their recent single release on KITSUNE. Its the ending of the set where they play the song in question. It happened at DANCE and the kids went nuts.

Another GEM from Diis Paradiis aka Rikslyd! This time she mashes up her own song with the Flashdance Theme. It's pure sex. Here is the video!

My pals at Flamin Hotz and Young Robots just celebrated the release of this here new 12" by RCMP:

Here's a couple tracks from said EP:
And then here's all the tracks in one handy mix: RCMP - RCMP EP Promo Mix (as per usual DJ Pumpkin Patch's remix is some top notch stuff!)
Digital release coming this Fall, grab the vinyl here!
Straight from the UK we got a couple tracks from BURNS. The first is an extended verion of "Heartbeats" which starts out with an 80s intro ala "The Secret to My Success" and then slips into lovely disco sounds.
Burns- Heeartbeats Extended Mix
The second is his White Lies- Death remix which is more along the lines of the hard club anthems. It's got white noise and a little drums. Both made me wiggle so check it.

Who shot Biggie? Who shot 2-Pac? Who will shoot Wallpaper.?
As Jay-Z induces a coma on the AutoTune world with his latest "D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune)" track, Wallpaper. plays the obstetrician birthing the child of one Mr. D.O.A. and Mrs. 99 Problems. So far they seem like great parents who mashed up well. Sometimes the pieces just fit.
This Bay-Area duo opened for Boyz II Men, do they even need an introduction? Ricky Reed on the track, let the story begin, yo.

One would be hard pressed to find evidence of it here in London, but it is now Summer. Across most of Western Civilization, kids are going to beaches, sitting around parks, and splashing about at pool parties.
Which raises an important musical question:
Can you play Bangers at a pool party?
Lord knows it happened in 2008, but perhaps that was a special historical anomaly. If you aren’t throwing a big rave pool party with banger djs from out of town, then for your typical, neighborhood pool party it might be best to shift the musical selection in a more pool-friendly direction. That is to say, to play Pool Party Music, a genre which, if it doesn’t exist, I would like to found now.
Unsurprisingly, I would lean towards Italo Disco, Disco, and more laid back, slow dance music selections for your Pool Party Music.
A short mix I made last year, after spending the Summer in San Francisco, seems a decent representation of one approach to Pool Party Music. Here it is. It’s called “Goodbye, San Francisco, and thanks for the STDs.”

Tracklist:
On TV- Holiday Love Affair
Sunbelt- Spin It
Azoto- San Salvador
Cleavage- Barah
Hercules and Love Affair- Raise me up

Pool Party Tip:
That summer in San Francisco we had many the impromptu pool party. As the bar or club would close at 2am, we would all show up, wasted, at one of the town’s nicer hotels and simply walk into the pool armed with booze. Despite doing this at the same hotel 10-20 times over the summer, and always bringing about 30 people who had no business in a place like this, they never ever asked us if we were guests. We figure they knew we weren’t and just didn’t want to ask on the off chance we were related to someone rich/important. Or, maybe they were just cool, because it was San Francisco. I might advise against trying this in towns that are not as socially liberal in SF. I could see you getting seriously fucked for trying this in New York. But if you are drunk enough I’d still go for it.
What other songs could be good for a pool party? Here are a couple.

And of course, the song behind the best Pool Party Music video ever made:

Our boy PAUL DEVRO over at MAD DECENT moved his ass down to LA and decided to get his very own MAD DECENT party going!
It takes place EVERY FRIDAY at 3 OF CLUBS and follows the LA tradition of combining the name of your brand with the day of the week to get the party name: MAD DECENT FRIDAYS. LA already has DIM MAK TUESDAYS. Now all we need is IHEARTCOMIX THURSDAYS and FOOL'S GOLD SATURDAYS and TROUBLE & BASS WEDNDAYS and we'll be set! :)
Anyways, this party is gonna be THE SHIT. I'll be there, probably stoned in the corner. Just remember to RSVP HERE: maddecent@gmail.com
