About 2 years ago we got a bug under our ass and came up with the crazy idea that we should start a record label. I'm glad we took the leap of faith. We've already had the pleasure of releasing two incredible records in the world: MATT & KIM and PROTOKOLL. We also have upcoming releases that we are equally excited about by such acts as OCELOT, THE TOXIC AVENGER and DREAM BURGER to name a few...

But what a lot of people don't know is the secret history of IHEARTCOMIX RECORDS. We usually tout MATT & KIM as being the first band, but the reality is, there was one that came before, FLYING DOUGLAS.

I was introduced to FLYING DOUGLAS through my ex-girlfriend. She gave me a demo of her new boyfriend's band, which I reluctantly took. I didn't know the guy and I didn't want to. It was my ex's new boo for christsakes! Anyways, one day i put it in the CD player just to check it out and it was phenominal. For being a band's first songs and recordings, I was just blown away, especially since it was worlds above most of what I was hearing at the time.

I took a trip down to SAN DIEGO (where they were from) with my biz partner, TRAVIS, to check them out live. Again, we were blown away. Right then, we knew we had to start a record label. We'd become fed up with finding bands and having them whisked away. It was time to take a stand.

Shortly after that we saw MATT & KIM play on a rooftop and got introduced to PROTOKOLL and THIS BLUSH and we had ourselves a record label.

Unfortunately, a few months later and in the middle of their recording sessions, FLYING DOUGLAS broke up! The songs were never completed and the damage in the band was unmendable. We'll never find out if our instincts were right, but we've dug up the original demo as well as an additional demo of a song that was intended for the album for all of you to hear. Enjoy. Two years later, we still can't get enough of these tracks.
