Drawing a fine line between Sonic Youth and Broadcast, the happily married couple of Sarah Everton and Rob Garcia have been writing and performing under the guise of Reading Rainbow for over 10 years. Within that time, Reading Rainbow saw the release of two LPs and multiple singles, including a 7″ release on Brandon (Crocodiles) & Dee Dee’s (Dum Dum Girls), Zoo Music imprint. Over time, the two Philadelphia based musicians sought to expand the density of their sound, not to mention separate their personal relationship from their artistic credibility. With the inclusion of longtime friends, Al Creedon & Greg Frantz, the recordings became lush and layered; taking a departure from their exceptional lo-fi beginnings to forge a more unified and dynamic expression. With a new band and a new mentality (not to mention threats from PBS), Reading Rainbow transfused into Bleeding Rainbow, a name that is far more suited to their vibrant tenacity.

Bleeding Rainbow will be performing tonight at the Bootleg Theater. Joining them will be Eternal Summers, DZ Deathrays, and Drug Cabin. Check out the video for, Pink Ruff, below and look out for their new album, Yeah Right, due out early next year on Kanine Records.
