For the dedicated L.A. scenester, Low End Theory is a Wednesday night hot spot, and home to resident DJ and co-founder, The Gaslamp Killer. Recently, in addition to his Low End Theory sets, Gaslamp has performed at Cinespia’s, the Unif Trap Bash with Juicy J and Tamara Sky, and our very own Franki Chan’s Birthday Party. It’s obvious that the man (real name, William Bensussen) is certainly no newcomer to the L.A. scene despite releasing his debut album Breakthrough this past September. The timing couldn’t have been better for The Gaslamp Killer’s unique psychedelic beats, as the L.A. music scene has been yearning for more progressive sounds coming from the L.A. beat scene.
Yesterday, The Gaslamp Killer premiered a new video for, Seven Years of Bad Luck for Fun, on Pitchfork TV directed by Phil Nisco. The video has certainly captured the essence of the track with sweeping landscapes and a young man in search of a subconscious awakening. The Gaslamp Killer has style that is all his own and this video reflects that with striking sights and sound.
The Gaslamp Killer will be a guest on this weeks IHC Live!!!, joined in part by Io Echo. Tune in Wednesday, November 21 at 6pm PST / 9pm EST as we stream live from the Meltdown Comics Studio.
