There are seldom things more attractive in this world than confidence. From the moment I met Anna Lunoe, she’s always personified a confidence in herself, her music and who she wants to be. It’s great. With the release of her new single this week on OWSLA, “Bass Drum Dealer (B.D.D.)“, she brings the point home even further…

I actually can’t remember the first time I met Anna. Likely it was amongst a wild night in the throws of Miami during WMC. That is the scenario that makes the most sense. Regardless, it was definitely in the midst of the environment she calls her home: The Dance Floor. What I may have lost in date & location (it was a few years ago), the one things that shines through in memory is her attitude and presence. Anna has always been one of those people I looked forward to running into. I’ve always loved watching her play and I’ve always reveled in her enthusiasm. She’s one of those people you meet that you WANT to win because the world deserves more people like her at the top.

You might ask, “Well all this is fine and dandy, but what about the music?” IT RULES! Duh. We wouldn’t have gotten this far if it didn’t. She is the queen of bass, the sultan of house, the lord of the dance floor. She does one of my all time favorite musical tricks, which is exist in-between worlds. She takes the best of the electronic genres that works for her and mashes them up into such a bad ass frenzy you cant help but get into it. She produces, she sings, she does it all and she’s not afraid to show her toughness along with her femininity. Her long list of collaborations only goes further to showcase the large amount of respect she holds amongst her peers.

Anna, this crush is for you. Go get ’em!
