Baby, I’m back with another installment of Crush of the Week! This one is a UK goddess who’s been let loose on the world, consequences be damned: Pixx.
With the recent release of her new album “Age of Anxiety” (out now on 4AD) a new wave of manic and emotional energy has been unleashed. She’s a full on whirlwind releasing raw thoughts in the form of serene and spastic electro-pop jams that feel just right for all the current confusion, yet reaching into a personal depth beyond her years.
In her latest iteration she comes across as a bit of a loose cannon and I like it. She’s chaos and beauty rolled up into one. Her vibe reminds me of an ex who’d bite the fuck out of me despite my protest as if becoming unhinged in a moment of passion, again, I kinda liked it. Pixx is like the musical version of her. You can feel the energy and drive pulsating out of her and into the world, only at it’s beginning stages. She’s young, so we’ll see where it goes from here.
