Crush of the Week: Swet Shop Boys

You know those situations where you’re torn between two people? Two loves, two paths, two opportunities for happiness, yet two different outcomes. Well that’s how I felt with the Swet Shop Boys, two hunks with strong opinions and great sense of humor who have me all twisted up in knots. I don’t know what to do!

Swet Shop Boys continue on a theme that both Heems (with Das Racist and solo) and Riz MC began in their previous hip hop iterations, but here you a have a political and lyrical super group who challenge several topical and cultural themes in the sexiest way possible. On one hand you have Heems who basically paved the way for this lane of rap and on the other you have the dude from frickin’ Star Wars. I mean, dream team anyone?

What I do know is these two together make one irresistible pair. They make Indian and Middle Eastern influenced beats, give hip hop a new perspective, and look spectacular doing it. Their 2016 released record, Cashmere, is worth the listen. Now, which one should I choose?
