Cue The Laugh Track: Heems Is Getting His Own Sitcom

Imagine for a moment, if you would, the legendary drum roll of the 20th Century Fox fanfare.  When you hear those horns, what do you think about — Star Wars?  Quality American television and cinema?

What about a network sitcom starring the one and only. . . Heems?

That’s right.  Apparently the multimedia giant 20th Century Fox has purchased the “story rights”, and has subsequently agreed to produce to a ‘situational comedy’ about former Das Racist captain Himanshu Suri’s life.  The news came two days ago, when Himanshu posted the following to his Twitter:

Heems also let fans know that the show’s pilot episode was written by Sanjay Shah, of “Fresh Off The Boat” and “Cougar Town” fame — as well as his work previously on “South Park” and “King Of The Hill.”

We couldn’t possibly imagine what a TV show about the man’s life would center around.  Wait a minute, yes we can: the rise to fame in the music world, the widespread use of narcotics, and the burning of bridges. Cue the laugh track!

However, with a track record like his, we can do little more than pray that a project this large won’t go as catastrophically awry as Heems’ previous ones have.  You know, like how he casually informed fans at a Das Racist set that the group would be breaking up — or when he announced that he would be shutting down his Greedhead record label, simply because he was pissed off at the other artists leeching off his fame. Or when drugs … anyway.

Either way, this is definitely something you won’t want to miss out on.  So keep it tuned to IHEARTCOMIX for more info on this inevitably glorious show.
