While this heatwave continues to keep Summer alive in Los Angeles, Virginia based pop trio, Eternal Summers, have no problem holding onto it all year long. For the longest time, Eternal Summers, have operated as a pair; two people refusing to compromise and let go of their youthful ambition. Having to break routine isn’t always easy, but the passing of years have led founding members, Nicole Yun & Daniel Cundiff, to reconfigure their process; most notably with the addition of long time collaborator and fellow Magic Twig community member, Jonathan Woods. As a three piece, Eternal Summers continue to pen lofty, bittersweet recollections of moments far gone, ambitiously looking to the past for to for today’s resolutions.
While their spirit remains unaffected by time’s aging hand, the groups latest LP, Correct Behavior, sees the band maturing nicely, with the record having been produced and mixed by Sune Rose Wagner of The Raveonettes and Alonzo Vargas, who mixed records for The Raveonettes & Dum Dum Girls. No matter how old or young a band may be, change is inevitable. We all grow into ourselves eventually, and reflecting on who we were and how we felt can be very telling of who we become. Eternal Summers prove that the fountain of youth exists, and, Correct Behavior, is your guide to discover it.
Eternal Summers will be performing on September 14th at the Bootleg Theater. Joining them will be DZ Deathrays, Bleeding Rainbow, and Drug Cabin. Be sure to head to your local record store and pick up a copy of, Correct Behavior, out now on Kanine Records.
