Now that Monday is here, it’s fully acceptable to reminisce about Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con this past weekend. Amidst countless exhibitors, panels, cosplayers and Stan Lee sightings, our epic collaboration with Witchsy put us on the map (literally) as a central hub for exhibitors and participants alike who wanted to kickback and listen to dope tunes or purchase merchandise from a slew of talented artists. Creepy Gals, Noah Harmon, Dripface, Tuesday Bassen and Laser Kitten were some of many featured artists who set up camp in our curated Indie Creator Zone and surrounded our main stage where all the action went down.
A billowy white sheet adorned with dying flowers and “WITCHSY X IHEARTCOMIX” spray painted in red, courtesy of Penelope Gazin, served as the backdrop for a line-up of unforgettable performances Saturday and Sunday. The Jesse Miller Show graced the stage, along with a live podcast of Alexi Wasser’s “Love, Alexi,” a performance by Max Baumgarten’s hilarious Department of Irregular Ambulation and not one, but two Luke McGarry signings happened at the IHC table. On Sunday, Whitmer Thomas of Powerviolence, tons of Supertight comedians and a special DJ set by Luke McGarry kept the madness going and crowds entertained.
Our holy grail console, Polycade, was also in attendance this weekend with some sick new games curated by Kill Screen. It was a gathering of colorful characters, music-lovers and artists that set the vibe all weekend long. Stay tuned for a complete IHC takeover of next year’s LACC.
