“Sexy” is the last thing I’d ever consider myself, as I’m someone who’s definitely eaten a plate of chicken wings on her bed before. I need a little help sometimes to get in the mood, you know? Cause let’s face it – we’re not all Tinder connoisseurs. Thankfully, Lido and Santell have got our backs with that one. Both artists have collaborated on an EP called The Passion Project and DA-YUM, it is some sexy shit.
If y’all have been sleeping on Lido, you’re dumb. You should be sleeping with him. He’s a gorgeous supermodel, but I digress. But really – his sensual (and charmingly melodic) productions made a major breakthrough when he executive produced Halsey‘s album this year. His talent – along with Santell‘s vocals make for an R&B soundtrack I’ll play when I’m rolling around on top a faux-bear-skin fur with my next conquest.
It’s not easy making seductive music, though. It’s an art. So, we asked Lido how the hell he does it, because lord knows we need some tips and he had this to say: “It’s gotta have a good balance. It can’t be so explicit that it’s gross. Then you lose the feeling. With all of our songs we tried to keep it clever and fun so even though it’s OVERTLY SEXUAL, it’s not disgusting. Some good chords and good voice also do the trick.”
My personal favorite song off this EP is “Pillows,” a song about a female lover who’s just too. damn.
Isn’t that what a ball gag’s for?
Anyway … the entire EP is worth a listen to – the last song is even a ballad!
