Today, Montreal producer Jacques Greene announced his new EP entitled After Life After Party that’s expected to drop on November 12th via LuckyMe Records. Known for his edgy almost ambiguous production that boasts feel good samples infused with melancholic beats, Greene has found a visual counterpart in Melissa Matos of Montreal design collective Trusst. The new music video 1 4 ME plays on the new Youtube sneakerhead trend of ‘Nike Tn Tipping‘ that captures either the rebelious act of destroying those fly sneakers making a statement on society’s obsession with consumerism.
As for the music, Jacques explains, “These tracks were born out of experimenting with a bit of self-imposed restraints. Afterlife was a particular sound palette I wanted to stick to and see what would come of it. ‘1 4 Me’ was trying to challenge myself to keep an arrangement dead simple. They came out of a period that was actually really prolific for me and I hope to share more soon, but these two stuck together with a playful spirit. Some fun for the end of summer, as we tread into winter.” In this simplicity, he’s found something that is deeply moving, profound, and yet transitional in many ways. You can see Jacques Greene on tour this ‘winter’ at Los Globos on Saturday, December 13th so make sure to pick up tickets below and score his new EP on November 12th.
