fbpx Matt and Kim Release Lyric Video for New Single "Get It" off Forthcoming LP "New Glow"
January 13th, 2015

In 2006 Matt & Kim released their eponymous debut record on IHEARTCOMIX Records, (Now IHC 1NFINITY) however today, almost a decade later, they’ve announced their fifth record, New Glow, officially out April 7th. Alongside the announcement came the record’s first single “Get It” and an accompanying lyric video.

The track superimposes Matt & Kim’s signature anthemic simplicity, emblematic of mid-2000s indie-pop, over a snappy contemporized electronic beat. Catchy as ever, they’ve blessed us with an energetic lyric video so now we can sing along, which is practically irresistable considering the raucous live party happening simultaneously. At it’s peak, “Get It” proclaims, “WE ALL SING ALONG, BUT THE NOTES ARE WRONG!” which serves as manifesto for Matt & Kim’s DIY approach to music as a whole. That untameable spirit of singing, partying, giving zero fucks about all the haters out there lives on in this tune.
