Last March at SXSW, Indaba and Converse Rubber Tracks invited IHEARTCOMIX to their pop-up studio at Big Orange in Austin to lay down some original tracks. We accepted that invitation so hard, and we brought some IHC talent with us to do it.
Together along with Heems, Gavin Turek, Pictureplane and Mark Redito (fka Spazzkid), we experimented with the space’s vast array of gear including the charmingly punchy Maestro Rhythm King Drum Machine and a pristine 1973 Minimoog Model D synthesizer to create over 1,000 unique, highly exclusive samples for you to use.
It was the first time every artist on our label, IHC 1NFINITY, performed together and the net yield of that is the IHC + Converse Sample Pack, which is available for you to use for free and manipulate however you damn well please.
The IHC sample pack is the latest contribution to the 20,000+ free-to-use samples already available in the Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library, a life-changing new online resource for musicians launched in February by Converse in partnership with Indaba.
But the sample pack is available to you for more than just your entertainment; it’s also available for your profit. Indaba is hosting a Sample Session contest for beatmakers who use the IHC Sample Pack to create an original piece of music.
Each submission will be judged by all artists who participated in the IHC Sample Session and prizes include $1,000 in cash, original IHC artwork illustrated and signed by Franki Chan, Converse gift cards, and being featured as a winner on IHC and Indaba Music’s social platforms.
Happy sampling, babes.
