Los Angeles and Berlin aren’t necessarily neighbors, but producers Low Limit and Lando Kal prove that in today’s digital society, artists can collaborate remotely from thousands of miles away. While technology has evolved, so has the strength of their music. As Lazer Sword, Low Limit and Lando Kal create juke inspired techno that is warm and mechanical. Their sleek, calculated sub tones add a consistency to the walls of abstract melodies that percolate in and out of the aural spectrum; creating sophisticated electronic arrangements with a free jazz mentality. While previously known for their big beat hip hop inspired productions, the evolution present on their latest LP, Memory, has produced a more refined and dynamic Lazer Sword, with a pulsing sensual energy that is impossible to resist.
Lazer Sword will be celebrating their record release in Los Angeles this Thursday at Los Globos. Joining them will be special guests Salva and Sodapop. In the meantime, check out Lazer Sword’s brand new record, Memory, out now on Modeselektor’s Monkeytown label.
