Detroit producer, Jimmy Edgar, is one of those people that never lack inspiration. Always focused and meditating, Edgar has gone to great lengths to discover the religion in himself, using multiple mediums of art to translate his inspirations for others. His dedication is no surprise when it comes to creating the aural and visual aesthetic that has defined his work for years. With a very hands on approach to sound design, the Detroit producer has built quite the following around his unique blend of polyrhythmic house and techno funk having released work on Warp, K7, and most recently, Scuba’s Hotflush label.

Music isn’t his only medium as Edgar has built quite the reputation in the fashion realm as both a photographer and designer. Don’t be mistaken though, the sensual aesthetic carries through into his visual work, often yielding the same high concept feel that we’ve become sonically used to.

Jimmy Edgar will be performing at the very first, OFF/CNTR, a new conceptual dance night that focuses on producers and DJs that deviate left of the mainstream dance curve. The will be additional sets from Addison Groove, Grenier, and Sodapop that will round out the evening’s programming. Do not miss the opportunity to experience some new sounds with us.
