Our friends and Check Yo Ponytail alumini, The Death Set, have been known to release some of the most conceptually bizzare and entertaining music videos over the past few years. Whether it’s a live performance in a closed U-haul with fireworks going off, a guy giving birth to his own girlfriend, or a dizzying pop culture explosion, their videos all tend to challenge what can be done with the medium, both visually and thematically.
The latest video for, Is It The End, is a perfect example of this continued practice, with The Death Set providing a tragic portrait of a complicated punk love triangle. Intense and dramatic, the song is a toned down selection from Johnny Siera and Dan Walker’s usual faire, but once again, the Death Set prove that they are more than just the thrashed-out, punk rockers they’ve become known for. Instead, Is It The End showcases a band that truly understands the complexity of human nature and aren’t afraid to highlight some of its darker moments.
