This week in video world, I finally find someone with an equivalent appetite to mine, Pamela Anderson’s tits do a 10 minute long trick, New Order proves they’re still relevant using old imagery and Gavin Turek breaks through the underground and swims up the mainstream like a powerful salmon. All that and more in this week’s Videos of the Week.
White Lung – “Hungry”
This video makes two things overwhelmingly clear. First, food is for eating. Second, do not ask this girl to bake a cake for you. She doesn’t know how. But most of all, it makes me fucking STARVING DOES ANYBODY HAVE A SANDWICH PREFERABLY A VEGETARIAN ONE BUT I’LL DO MEAT IF I HAVE TO.
Gavin Turek + Escort on Jimmy Kimmel
Our 1NFINITY baby is all grown up and dancing and flailing professionally on Kimmel, and we could not be more proud. DADDY LOVES YOU, HONEY. If you’ve never had the opportunity to see Gavin Turek live, this video will explain to you what the hype’s all about. This chick moves around and jiggles and hair tosses with an energy rarely seen outside nuclear test sites and the sheer frenetic kenetic genetic scene is nothing short of superstar-worthy.
New Order – “Singularity”
Contrary to what you may think, the imagery in New Order’s new video for “Singularity” is not from moderately entertaining Sandler-Barrymore rom-com 50 First Dates. Instead, it’s footage of young people running around and buildings burning and other post-punk things of Eastern European nature taken from the film B Movie: Lust & Sound in West Berlin 1979-1989.
I don’t know about you, but this video excites me to no end because New Order is the closest I’ll ever get to Joy Division, and the fact that they’re still putting out new material and visuals way past the point that they have to just makes me what to smile sheepishly to myself.
Rihanna – “Work” feat. that one guy Drake
Siri, translate: “Dwewerkekkwdraekekwekrealkjdfakjfdaljjj” for me because I have no idea what Rihanna is saying in this.
Drake, I understand. Rihanna I … I … adlkfjadlfkajd.
There’s two videos in one. Director X made them.
Connected, that Pamela Anderson short film
Why would you not watch two boobs connected to a head try to do sci-fi?
TOKiMONSTA – “Put It Down” feat. Anderson .Paak + KRNE
I think what’s happening here is a commentary on persons of crumbling stature … but if you zoom out of that in-depth psychoanalysis, this video is just hot people doing weird things to TOKiMONSTA’s always-epic production. And milk. LACTOSE WARNING, PROCEED ACCORDINGLY. Forecast calls for big, explosive drops and high-energy movement on this one, so don’t even try to snooze through this.
