New York electro-punkers FIGO have been causing carnage across the U.S., Europe and Asia and now bring their hard rocking show to Los Angeles October 15th. The band released their independent debut EP, Put It All On Black, in 2012 and received high acclaim from FILTER Magazine, The New York Post, NME Magazine, and Brooklyn Vegan among others. In addition to their studio EP, FIGO have been releasing some banger remixes for greats like Justice, Lady Tron, and more recently Drop The Lime. Now they’ve been hand selected by Marky Ramone and Andrew W.K. to support them on their upcoming tour.
As independent artists the passion for the music is a driving force for FIGO and their confidence in the music is reflected in their songs. Their EP Put It All On Black speaks to the risk involved with producing an album on your own but earning the respect or your rock and roll counterparts for such an endeavor has paid off ten fold. Listen to their hard rocking single Plaza below and pick up the entire EP on their bandcamp.
Linking up with Doc Nasty to remix Drop The Lime’s rendition of Springfield’s State Trooper was a stroke of brilliance as this track has been transformed from rock ballad to a dynamite dance track that secured it as an official remix on Ultra Records.
Figo aren’t slowing down any time soon as the tour is already underway. Don’t miss them as they support Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg with Andrew W.K. on vocal at the Fonda Theatre October 15th. Ticket are on sale now so mark your calendar for this legendary linup.
