Our good friend and upcoming Mad Decent superstar Djemba Djemba comes at us today with his latest release, a collaboration with 21 year old multi-discipline artist London Future. Look at Me Now keeps a steady handclapped pace before dissolving into a mass of low end subs and erratic samples. What’s so interesting about the track however, is the manner in which it’s arranged. At times it feels anthemic, overtly positive and life affirming before slamming us back into the ground. There is always so much attention to detail within Djemba’s productions; Filtered swells, layered foley, and impeccably timed dynamic shifts populate the dense club ready banger. While other producers tend to take you for a ride that just ends up being the same phrases over and over, Look At Me Now proves their is more depth to explore the sonic dynamic, giving trap music more character and potential than ever before.
