Last week, we were treated to remarkable performances from legendary jazz bassist Thundercat, alongside up and comer Moses Sumney, and L.A.’s own JonWayne. The crowd filtered into the Echoplex for a sold out show and were treated to the slow groove sounds of JonWayne as he laid down a masterfully beat driven set. Next up was Moses Sumney, and if you weren’t sure who he was before the show you certaibly did after his magnificent set. He crooned while the ladies swooned to his falsetto vocals and impecible range. Finally the wait was over, The Gaslamp Killer appeared on stage after a short set break to introduce the Brainfeeder bassist and Thundercat wasted no time in bringing the funk. His stage charisma and intricate fretting were effortless the entire night and entranced the audience for a night they’ll never forget. Take a look at the photos from the night taken be Michael Melwani.
