In 2007, Glasgow based producer Rustie released his Jagz The Smack EP encapsulating the mid-decade electronic music with genre busting beats and synths that would soon be known as U.K. Bass music. As a member of the Scottish Numbers collective, he still strives to produce songs that push boudaries incorporating Japanese prog-rock, grime, and Detroit techno into his mixes. Almost seven years after his debut EP his evolving discography has captured the imaginations of his contemporaries and converted the American EDM audience.
Rustie’s latest double single Triadzz / Slasherr is a testament to his dedication of melding fast progression and intense club drops to create a danceable crescendo. The single was released earlier this year on Numbers and has received high acclaim from Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, and BPM just to name a few. Listen to the synthtastic double single below!
Last month, Rustie released a new music video BOATSSS on FACT Magazine as a contribution to a double-disc compilation designed to aid children in South-East India. The video features the Light Of Love Children’s Choir and maintains Rustie’s unmistakeable style set to children’s smiling faces. We applaud his generocity and proactivity when it comes to giving back and are very excited to welcome him to L.A. this Sunday.
