I think it will be absolutely impossible to dispute whether or not Sound Pellegrino co-founder Texi Latex is “cute” after you see his latest video for, Things That I Do. In the wake of Valentine’s Day releases, this animated gem comes courtesy of French artist Pierre Thyss, who illustrated each scene by hand, showcasing the many enduring qualities that Teki has to offer towards his lovely and very patient girlfriend. The track itself was produced by Eero Johannes and is wonky and delightful, providing enough space between hollow blips and crystalline synth jabs for Teki to tell us how it is.
Apparently some viewers have thought this video and song to be “too personal” or “selfish and aggressive.” Others think it’s just a joke. What the fuck is wrong with people? Is it so hard to appreciate something so simple and genuine? I for one feel we should champion intimacy and not be afraid to show a lesser known side of ourselves every once in awhile. If anything, it provides a bit of perspective on the mentality of the artists we love and leads to greater future enjoyment.
So, shout out to Teki Latex for being the best him there can ever be. Things That I Do is available now on the SND.PE VOL.02: Crossover Series release from Sound Pellegrino.
