It’s always intriguing to me when artists transition from live music into the electronic scene to see how the former instrumentation influences the production. Fledgling stars Fred Vahrman and Josh Jackson, a.k.a Fred V & Grafix, have done exactly this with immaculate grace and brilliance over the past five years. The boys have already brought us such gems as One Of These Days, Just A Thought, and Major Happy, as well as featuring on a number of Hospitality compilations. When they’re not making dreamy, dance worthy D+B, the duo can be found on BBC Radio 1Xtra or doing mini mixes for Annie Mac!
Initially into live music, Fred’s guitar talents still soar through the drum and bass and set their sound apart from the the rest of the D+B scene. The pair converted to D+B when they heard Pendulum’s controversial and genre-changing album Hold Your Colour and High Contrast’s sophomore High Society. Now a stalwart of the D+B scene their new single Recognise on Hospital Records infuses sonic synths with those bass beats and tremoring high hats that overcome us all in the midst of a sweaty dancefloor. Featuring lead vocals from Fred V himself, this track showcases the best of both D+B and live performance. We’re incredibly excited to have them as part of our IHEARTCOMIX Miami HQ Hospitality Showcase so if you’re headed for some fun in the sun at this year’s WMC be sure to swoop you tickets for this amazing show!
