Last week, we were anxiously awaiting the release of M.I.A.‘s directoral debut for her new music video DoubleBubbleTrouble, but were forced to wait longer after the release was postponed. This morning, M.I.A. tweeted out the link to the new video, however it soon became clear the video was blocked by Universal Music Group not just in the U.S. but globally. Fans were quick to respond creating the hashtag #FreeDBT, and one hour later the video was freed by Universal for the world to see. DoubleBubbleTrouble is certainly a highlight from her new album MATANGI, and the music video doesn’t disappoint either, complete with 3D printed uzis, dope dance routines, and enough smoke rings to give you a contact high just from watching. Watch the music video and pick up tickets to see her live Wednesday, May 29th at the Shrine Expo Hall!
