Ninja Tune producer Travis Stewart, aka Machinedrum, has been creating groundbreaking IDM music since the late 90s and his extensive experience, along with major technological advances, have given him the tools needed to come into his own. His biggest and boldest release came last year in the form of the full-length LP Vapor City, a conceptual universe which included an interactive website, digital citizenship program for fans, and an art exhibit in NYC that launched with the album. On November 18th, Machinedrum will release his new LP Vapor City Archives that is expected to dive even deeper into the experimental world. Implementing some deep low end bass as the backdrop for minimalistic vocal loops, Machinedrum has harnessed the whimsical but articulate attributes of this four and half minute aural experience.
