Naturally, when we have an artist like TroyBoi coming through to play ClubIHC, or any of our events, we neurotically stalk them. Naturally, we come across their music videos. Naturally, we lurk their YouTube comments, because what is work?
However, in our internet sleuthing, we rarely come across such gems as the ones we found on the comments section of TroyBoi‘s new video for “No Substitute” ft. Y.A.S.
Of course, the video that precedes these internet outbursts is everything you’d expect from suspected male model TroyBoi; it’s a trap/R&B hybrid, an homage to drops and Spanx-tight production. A deep beat and intense synths kick in midway but Y.A.S’ yearning, delicate vocals remain, giving the ordinarily trap-py producer some more melodic, sensual ammo for his repertoire.
