Tomorrow night, join music producer Hal Wilner and director Matt Piedmont for a night of music and funny people as they celebrate the 60th anniversary of Allen Ginsberg’s epic societal warcry, “Howl.”
They’ll host their own special gathering featuring a who’s-who that includes Nick Cave, Peaches, Amy Poehler, Tim Robbins, Courtney Love, Will Forte, Lucinda Williams, Macy Gray, John Mulaney and many other artists and comedians you daydream about being. Depending on which one of these monolithic performers we’re talking about, you’ll witness them reading selections of beat-era brilliance set to either music or ominous, Ginsberg-esque intervals of heart-stopping silence. Literally cannot wait, please speed up time kthanx.
Proceeds benefit the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace. No word yet as to whether or not any of that goes towards the Twin Peaks remake we’ve been waiting for 25 years to see … probably none but a girl/boy/genderless being can dream.
