In 2015, the year of our lord, we saw some truly amazing, highly iconic videos. Videos that stuck with us well past the ‘play’ button was pressed; videos sure to inspire Halloween costumes for years to come.
And while it’s a physical impossibility to rank these videos, there were of course a few standouts. Drake’s “Hotline Bling” reignited the sensitive-intellectual-wearing-a-turtleneck trend, Rihanna’s “BBHMM” number made us nervously pay our hospital bill for that time we thought we were internally bleeding but it was just beets, and Tame Impala’s brand-new “The Less I Know the Better” video made us all go “WHAT? WHAT? WHAAAT?” several times out loud.
Plus, who could forget Seth Bogart’s lysergic, nauseating “Eating Makeup” video or Neon Indian’s ’80s rave terror thriller “Slumlord Rising?” Don’t even get us started about the A.G. Rojas-directed “Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)” video from Run the Jewels or Grimes’ “Flesh Without Blood” video where she plays like 2,930 different characters.
God, there are just so many videos to choose this year. Thirty-one to be exact. Thirty-one videos chosen based on their ability to make us feel things, to make us think things, to inspire us, make our eyes orgasm and to make us dance like the people in the video only much worse because one of our legs is shorter than the other.
So, without, further adieu, here are 2015’s best, most amazing-est, most FUCK YEAH music videos from our favorite artists, and probably yours too. You can watch them all one after the other on our YouTube playlist too.
