It’s officially October guys! To me, this is the best month out of the whole year because it means the weather gets cooler and Halloween (objectively the best holiday) is just around the corner. It also means that I casually begin wearing weirder costume-y outfits on the daily while I binge watch scary movies. The scary/ weird vibes will definitely leak into the videos I choose to bring you this month, so I hope you’re in the mood to start sleeping with the lights on. Oh I’m the only one who still does that? Ok nevermind.

1. Drugdealer – “Easy To Forget” ft Ariel Pink:

We kick off the scary theme with a new video from Drugdealer for their song “Easy To Forget” featuring Ariel Pink. You might be saying, “Jasmine, this video is not scary at all. In fact, the song is extremely easy on the ears.” And to that I’d say, “That woman is clearly driving while under the influence of some heavy benzodiazepines! She could kill someone!” That to me is scarier than any chainsaw wielding masked villain. The song is taken from The End of Comedy, out now on Weird World.

2. Gallant – “Skipping Stones”:

Speaking of car related deaths, Gallant has just released a new video for “Skipping Stones” featuring a beautiful and murderous Jhené Aiko. In the clip, we see a bloody Gallant struggle to break free from the trunk of a car. Aiko casually sings while she cold-heartedly lets him think he’s about to escape. Then, she sets the entire car on fire. Note to self, do not fuck with Jhené Aiko.

3. Mr. Oizo – All Wet Album Trailer:

Mr. Oizo’s album teaser for his upcoming album, All Wet, wins the internet this week. It features Flying Lotus hilariously impersonating our pal Skrillex while wearing his signature glasses and a long wig. There’s also a fake Peaches, fake Boys Noize, Mr. Oizo’s puppet Flat Eric, a bloody deflated Donald Trump, and other outrageous things. Even if you’re not a fan of his music, you have to watch the whole thing as it is an utterly insane piece of art.

4. Pennywild Dancing to Troyboi:

Talented dancer, singer, DJ, and good friend of IHC, Pennywild, has just released another fantastic dancing video. We get to see her bust her insane moves in the back alley of a sleazy strip club in LA and then on a fancy stage. If you want to see more of her, don’t miss the IHEARTCOMIX SUPERSHOW at Festival Supreme on October 29th. Grab your tickets here.

5. Hope Sandoval – “Let Me Get There” ft. Kurt Vile:

Last month, Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star and Colm Ó Cíosóig of My Bloody Valentine announced that they would be releasing an album together and now they’ve released this video for “Let Me Get There” ft. Kurt Vile. Hope and Kurt’s breezy, soothing vocals are really a match made in heaven on this track. The video was directed by Hope Sandoval herself, and it may just be that the talking heads remind me of the “show me what you got” heads from Rick & Morty, but I am obsessed with it. Now I have a song other than “Fade Into You” to casually cry to.

6. Twin Peaks Teaser:

What is this video? Oh just Grammy award winning composer Angelo Badalamenti playing his airy synths against a forest backdrop. We don’t get any actual images from the upcoming Twin Peaks reboot, but I’m still ridiculously excited and can’t wait for more.

7. How to be a good parent ft. Prodigy:

Is it bad that I immediately thought that I want to do this to my niece/nephew when my older sister has children? Don’t tell her I said that, she won’t let me anywhere near them.
