Beats by Dre and Warner Bros. Records enlisted IHC to creatively engineer and produce The Flaming Lips release party for their new record Oczy Mlody. Doubling as Wayne Coyne’s birthday party, the event was a part of their Beats Presents series which puts a spotlight on specific artists.
Taking place at Mack Sennett Studios in Los Angeles, IHC worked directly with the band to create an experience that brought their new album to life. The audience entered the colorfully lit building through a rainbow pathway that lead them through the event. Once inside, guests were invited to experience the plushy moped themed animated photo booth, a black light marble body painting station, a positive torture bondage chamber complete with dominatrix, the Beats by Dre listening lounge or to dance in front of the 16ft tall DJ castle and multiple unicorns all custom-made exclusively for the event. To top it off, The Flaming Lips themselves provided all of their stage props to fill out the room.
IHC’s roles included overseeing all production of the event, leading all creative, local marketing efforts and VIP invites. Celebrity attendance included Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Elijah Wood, Moby, Shepard Fairey and more.
