Let’s face it, this year has been weird and stressful AF for just about everyone. Despite this fact, I have a strong feeling that 2017 will go down in history as one of the best years for music.
It may just be the artists we have in rotation at IHC HQ, but this year’s music has tended toward the experimental. From Vince Staples rapping over delirious house production on “Big Fish Theory,” to Kendrick Lamar literally featuring U2 (of all bands) on a track in “DAMN.,” to Ariel Pink channeling “Video Killed The Radio Star” vibes in his latest glitchy electronic epic, “Time To Live,” 2017 has brought the seamless blending of genres and decades in a distinct flavor we haven’t seen before.
Enter our latest playlist: Best Tracks of 2017 (So Far), featuring a mix of well-loved favorites and songs that might have flown under your radar. Consider it an ode to seeing the silver lining in this fucked up and anxiety-inducing year.
