Born of the internet and using no more than an iPhone and her index finger, 22-year old Brittney Scott aka B6’s signature style of uncanny digital portraiture finally makes it’s way IRL. On the tides of Twitter, her work has risen up as the dominant visual moniker for a generation online. Dubbed “EDM’s Andy Warhol” by L.A.’s Nest HQ, her URL portfolio includes drawings of A-TRAK, MAJOR LAZER, MARTIN SOLVEIG, DILLON FRANCES and JEROME LOL among hundreds of other DJs and YOUNG KLOUT GANG affiliates. She also hosted our collaborative DJ web series, Deep Thots, on Thump and is part of out IHEARTCOMIX fam so show some love!
Scott’s stream of consciousness work and online expression questions the distinctions between digital expression and contemporary performance art. Merging pop cultural mockery with graffiti style drawings, her two-dimensional work has garnered her a mass following as the symbol-maker for the URL. She recently created her first online art show staying based in her URL universe but Thursday, August 14th Scott’s debut IRL art show at BOLD LA will feature mixed media works, spanning her full roster of work up until this point. For the first time, tangible expressions of her digital repertoire will come through the screen and make canvas of the physical world.
