Composer Christophe Beck Leaks ‘Ant-Man’ Theme Purely to Excite You
On the dawn of the theatrical release of Marvel‘s Ant-Man, infamous composer Christophe Beck has leaked his triumphant theme song creation to the earth’s population of ear-having fans.
Like any good theme, Beck’s Ant-Man anthem instantly hits you with a sense of buoyancy and forward ambition. But the track succeeds most at capturing the upward ease and breeze of classic Bond capers, which seems like a particularly harmonious partner to the film’s comical tone. You don’t even have to have seen the film’s trailer to picture Paul Rudd shrinking down to his ant-form and eating sugar crystals off your floor while simultaneously looking totally sexy and fertile for a man of his vintage.
It’s also kiiiind of a big deal that Beck is on-board with the
Ant-Man project. After the flop of 2008’s
The Incredible Hulk, there was some worry that
Ant-Man would fall short in the same places the agro green dude did. However, a wave of positive critical feedback plus Beck’s sonic expertise has pretty much ensured that
Ant-Man is no Hulk shit, and we can all drool over pocket-sized Paul Rudd without guilt. Whoa, sorry that’s the second time I’ve mentioned Paul Rudd … look, a bird!
Beck’s also composed themes for Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Bring It On, Garfield, Fred Claus, The Hangover, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Edge Of Tomorrow, The Muppets, and Frozen, so … dude knows what’s up.
Listen to the theme below, and look out for
Ant-Man, in theaters everywhere July 17. And when you’re done, check out our
red carpet coverage of
Ant-Man’s world premiere in L.A. starring our very own
Kitty, who may or may not be wearing a Totoro outfit. So. Painfully. Legit.
