Yesterday saw the release of Uncanny Valley, the first Dismemberment Plan album in over a decade. In a fitting move, the band orchestrates a bit of silliness in this simple and fun music video for lead single, Waiting. With the aide of several talented sign language translators, Dismemberment Plan create an expressive bridge between their music and those who may never hear it. As the translators match Travis Morrison’s playful gestures, the background vibrantly shifts through colorful arrays while the rest of the band add a bit of their own characters into the mix. It’s great to see that Dismemberment Plan have maintained their youthful spright through all of life’s maturing stages these past 12 years. As die hard fans can attest, the wait has certainly been a long and unexpected one. Welcome back.
On December 12th, IHEARTCOMIX is teaming up with Goldenvoice to present the Dismemberment Plan at the Fonda. Joining them will be Telekenisis and special guests. Make sure to go support your local record store and pick up the Dismemberment Plan’s brand new album, Uncanny Valley, available now on Partisan Records.
