The Dum Dum Girls were absolutely stunning last night as they made an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. Let’s be fair though, it’s near impossible to not absolutely swoon over DD, Jules, Sandy, and Malia. Even the new guy is holding his own and fitting in with the impossibly stylish and talented fantastic four. Here, the band performs Rimbaud Eyes from their latest LP, Too True instantly charming the likes of the Big Man Dave.
I wonder how 19th century French teenage poet Arthur Rimbaud would have taken to it. He has the actual Rimbaud eyes after all. Jokes aside, Dee Dee has truly thrown herself into the sea through the course of her career. Each time she surfaces, a more evolved understanding of self leads her to create these apt emotional offerings that go beyond the sphere of modern songwriting, and delve into a more classic state of expression.
With that said, enjoy the Dum Dum Girls Late Show performance and make sure to support your local record store and pick up a copy of, Too True, out now via Sub Pop.
