The first time I sat down next to Kitty, she’s was tapping away on her laptop in the IHC office and I spent fifteen minutes trying to figure out whether or not I tell her that I know who she is. One of my best friends had a huge, borderline creepy crush on her a couple summers ago, and so I decided to use that as my opening line.
“One of my friends used to watch videos of you.”
She did her best not to act [justifiably] terrified, and now I tell people we’re friends (I’m surrrre she says the same thing about me). So I’m honored to get to announce she just released a new track about the most powerful force known to man: Drink Tickets. In short, it’s about being incredibly frosty and swaggy while actually being broke, like that moment you roll up in some fresh $4 Goodwill feather jacket. It’s “Thrift Shop” without all the insufferable Macklemore. Produced by frequent collaborator Pat Lukens, it’s definitely the most powerhouse thing she’s dropped since releasing Frostbite, and since we’re such BFFs, I guess this is my biggest accomplishment too …
This is the third release in Adult Swim‘s run of singles this summer, so keep your ears peepin’ for more goodness – or just keep coming to IHC, because we’ll be covering it for ya. And for more Kitty, we just sent her to the Red White Carpet to interview PPL MVR, and they hugged, so now PPL MVR and I are in a fight.
Here’s “Drink Tickets” for all your listening pleasures:
