Next week, Sundance will be kicking off their first ever NEXT FEST film festival that will also include musical performances from some very talented artists! One of the featured screenings will be Jeff Baena’s ‘zom com rom dram,’ Life After Beth starring Aubrey Plaza and Dane DeHaan as Beth and Zach, who fall in love only be torn apart by Beth’s tragic death. After visiting her at the cemetary, Zach is stunned to find an empty grave, only to learn Beth has been ‘resurrected.’ What at first seems like a godsend, quickly tranforms into a nightmare as Beth finds herself craving only the taste of human flesh.
We’ve all faced relationship problems, however Zach’s circumstances are truly unique and the ensuing complications of dating a zombie soon force him to face a harsh reality. What results is a hysterical yet poignant drama, that is rife with dark humor and touching tidbits that give a far out story unparalled authenticity. The film features an all-star cast including other Hollywood notables John C. Reilly, Anna Kendrick, Cheryl Hines, Paul Reiser, and Molly Shannon among others. Watch the trailer for sneak peek of this daring new film.
Immediately following the film, there will also be a special solo performance by Father John Misty, who’s music video Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings also stars Plaza as a deranged love sick party goer. The Parks and Recreation star has continued to push herself, taking atypical roles to show her incredible range as an actress and she makes one hell of a Zombie!
