In partnership with the Sundance Channel, Nokia Music has recently released the first in a series of absolutely beautiful documentary featurettes called, New American Noise. The series focuses on a number of different music scenes ranging throughout the United States ranging from Atlanta Hip Hop, Detroit Techno, Shoegaze in Portland, and the Bounce Music scene in New Orleans.
There is a greater music conversation happening behind the scenes, and New American Noise, offers a window into the music that is challenging the way we define “Pop” music and how genre lines are drawn and broken. Over the next few days, we’ll take a look at these exchanges as they are happening starting with a dialog on Sissy Bounce, a genre we are all to familiar with here at IHEARTCOMIX having already featured Big Freedia and Nicky Da B on numerous occasions around the country. There’s no Bounce experience than down in the Big Easy, so grab a seat and take a look at, That B.E.A.T.
