OK, now that that’s out of my system, onto the news: L.A. based Nosaj Thing has announced that he’ll be releasing his new album Fated on May 5th via Innovative Leisure. Nosaj and IHC go way back – he played along with Just Blaze, Franki Chan, Araabmuzik and others last March at IHC’s party at the Empire Control Room, and we’ve been jumping on every bit of Nosaj news since.

To get the hype wheels turning, he’s released the single Cold Stares, featuring past collaborators Chance The Rapper and The O’My’s. It’s a sparse, thoughtful beat with an uncharacteristically dark verse from Channo, presumably about drug withdrawal.

And other than that, there’s remarkably little information available right now. Maybe the next single features 2 Chainz and those animatronic Chuck E. Cheese robots… and maybe it doesn’t. You’ll just have to stay tuned to figure out.
