I first heard RÜFÜS DU SOL while traveling from Sydney to Melbourne in 2011 while listening to Triple J Unearthed. New to the Australian music scene I dove head first into a wealth of breaking new artists and Triple J Unearthed became my go to resource for discovery. RÜFÜS had just released their debut self-titled EP that Summer and were catching fire down under. Nearly three years later they’ve transcended the borders of their continent and earned high acclaim for their full length album ATLAS and more recently the new Desert Night EP.
Desert Night is a delectable dance track that titles the EP and has even received the magic touches of L.A. based producers Groundislava and Kastle. The B-side track Modest Life keeps the vibe alive with those sexy synths and lucid lyrics rounding out the EP. Kastle adds his bass heavy rendition featuring highlighted keys and an up tempo bpm while Groundislava changes pace and gives us a slow building, beat driven, house remix.
