You know that feeling when you wake up and there’s a new remix of 1NFINITY artist Pictureplane‘s “Hyper Real” out and it makes you feel like you can get through the day without slowly melting into a iridescent puddle of emotion and last night’s vodka Red Bulls?

Well, you should know now because Knife City (a.k.a Luke from Anamanguchi) just dropped his own version of Pictureplane’s hallowed track which premiered today on Thump.

“Pictureplane (Travis Egedy)’s most recent single, “Hyper Real,” reached through the monitor to pull at your heartstrings. Lonely strains floating through hazy breaks and a warped voice intoning, “I’m a psychopath”: this is what a late-night Tinder cruise sounds like. Already rinsed by Jerome LOL and Dark0, the track now gets whipped into a pop banger by Knife City, AKA Luke from Anamanaguchi. They’ve cheekily tagged it “goth EDM,” and that title might not be too far off.”
