New Order – “Singularity”
Contrary to what you may think, the imagery in New Order’s new video for “Singularity” is not from moderately entertaining Sandler-Barrymore rom-com 50 First Dates. Instead, it’s footage of young people running around and buildings burning and other post-punk things of Eastern European nature taken from the film B Movie: Lust & Sound in West Berlin 1979-1989.
I don’t know about you, but this video excites me to no end because New Order is the closest I’ll ever get to Joy Division, and the fact that they’re still putting out new material and visuals way past the point that they have to just makes me what to smile sheepishly to myself.
