I remember seeing a quote plastered on my college dorm’s bulletin board that read “Great Things Never Come From Comfort Zones.” Thinking about it now, I can see how that could apply to a lot of things. I feel like it’s easy to tell someone to try and do things you don’t normally do, but it doesn’t mean I’ll go skydiving tomorrow (though I’m still planning to one day). People sometimes forget that little things can go a long way to break out of your comfort zone. I constantly try my best to find different ways to spice up my day. One thing that gives me a good push is mixing up different genres of music, tv shows, or movies all at once to get those creative juices flowing.
This week’s videos are definitely a mixed bunch, but they are sure to having you laughing, thinking, confused, nostalgic, and in awe. These videos feature the latest from Weezer, Shabazz Palaces, NVDES, Nathan for You, and more.
1.Weezer – “Mexican Fender”:
Weezer’s video for “Mexican Fender” definitely had me giggling from start to end. This story is about a seagull trying to win over the heart of a beautiful woman on the beach. Does he get the girl? Watch till the end and you’ll find out.
2. Shabazz Palaces – “Shine a Light (feat. Thaddillac)”:
The visuals for Shabazz Palaces’ video, “Shine a Light” really had me thinking. Enticed by a story surrounding what appears to be a sacrifice or offering. It still has me questioning, but overall a beautifully made video.
3. NVDES – “Sugar”:
Some cool colors and gooey visuals for NVDES new video for “Sugar”. My eyes feel funny staring into hers, but I can’t look away.
4. M83 – “Do It, Try It”:
M83’s video for “Do it, Try it”, which premiered at Sundance NEXT FEST this past week, features children’s drawings that come to life to wreak havoc inside a small city diner. It will have your imagination running wild – literally.
5. Jamila Woods – “LSD” ft. Chance The Rapper:
Jamila Woods‘ video for “LSD “channels calm summery vibes with loads of color. Not to mention the video’s concept was done by a high school student. Positive vibes all the way with this one!
6. Nathan For You – Season 4 Trailer:
I personally am in love with Nathan Fielder. I am a HUGE fan of his show and I can’t get enough of his awkward and crazy antics. This video is a sneak peek of the upcoming new season of “Nathan For You,” revealing plans to take down Uber. Watching this show makes me feel like I can do anything.

7. The Florida Project:
This trailer for Tangerine director, Sean Bakers ‘s latest film, The Florida Project, brings me back to a time of innocent adolescence, with a touch of simplicity.
