Sup babes, how you doin’? To be honest, this week has been incredibly hectic and weird for me. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming but, however trite it is, I constantly try to remind myself that it’s all part of the nature of life. The bad just serves as a frame of reference for what is good, and the good just wouldn’t be as good without the bad. In terms of videos though, if you don’t want to sort through all the videos that came out this week to find those diamonds in the rough, I got you covered!

1. BADBADNOTGOOD – “Chompy’s Paradise”:

“Chompy’s Paradise” is the newest video to be released off BADBADNOTGOOD’s new album IV. In the video we get to see the newest permanent member of the group, Leland “Chompy” Whitty attempt to disable a bomb strapped to his saxophone. Listening to that smooth track which prominently features the saxophone in question, we can see just why he would want to save such a beautiful instrument. He struggles for a while, and then suddenly recalls that his very saxophone has given him a lesson on how to disarm bombs in the past. If that sounds fishy, it’s because it totally is. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, don’t miss BBNG at WeTransfer’s How We Do: LA on September 28, 2016 at the beautiful Theatre at Ace Hotel DTLA. More info here.

2. of Montreal – “let’s relate”:

The other day I heard this song playing at a record store and immediately needed to find out who it was. To my surprise, it was of Montreal, who I am ashamed to admit that I haven’t kept up with, despite them being one of my biggest high school obsessions. The track “let’s relate” sounds like if Kevin Barnes was singing on a Crystal Castles track circa 2007. (Another high school obsession of mine). Needless to say, I’ve been listening to it nonstop since. The track comes off of Montreal’s new album, Innocent Reaches, which is absolutely fantastic and definitely worth a listen.

3. Bat For Lashes – “Joe’s Dream”:

“Joe’s Dream” is the second track on Bat For Lashes’ newest release, The Bride, a concept album that tells the story of a bride whose husband-to-be dies on the way to their wedding. Natasha Khan has said that she saw a feature film in her mind as she wrote the album. We get a glimpse into her mind in this video for the slowly unfolding ballad with haunting visuals of Natasha Khan playing on a glittering stage.

4. Burning Man 2016 Hyperlapse:

Burning Man is officially over and all my social media feeds are now being flooded with pictures of all my friends naked, exclaiming how their “life will never be the same” and how “blessed and grateful they are” for x, y, z. That may sound like I’m making fun of them, but I’m honestly just super jealous. I’ve been wanting to go to Burning Man for nearly a decade now, but the stars never align and something always gets in the way. Seeing photos and videos of the incredible art just intensifies my desire to go every year. This video probably took my desire over the edge, though. BURNING MAN 2017 I’M COMIN’ FOR YOU.

5. Neil Degrasse Tyson:

Neil Degrasse Tyson is famously known as either being that super smart astrophysicist or as the lovable host of Cosmos. In this video, he just increases my love for him as he answers the real important philosophical question, “Can the Hulk pick up Thor if Thor’s hammer is on the ground and Thor is holding it?”
