Wunder Wunder is the new project from longtime friends and Australian music producers, Aaron Shanahan and Benjamin Plant. Collaborating as part of Miami Horror for years, the duo have created a new project, Wunder Wunder to promotes their passion for colourful psychedelic ’60s and ’70s pop. Now L.A. residents, they’ve found a synthesis of Australian synthwave and Southern Californian psychpop that stimulates the imagination all while tugging our heartstrings.
Their new single Coastline captures all the feels of Summer including those wistful sleepless nights we know so well. Bright wavy synths highlight infectious guitar riffs, all washed over with Lo-Fi effects forming an aural trip into the west coast sun. Longing lyrics tell the story of unrequited love, however under the kaleidoscope of melody and sonic color the lonliness gives way to hope. Of course it didn’t take long for this Summer jam to get remixed by synthwave titans and remix masters, Gigamesh and Goldroom giving it a fresh flip perfect for poolside lounging.
