Risen from the depths of Brooklyn comes the mesmerizing black metal of Liturgy. What started our as the solo project of Hunter Hunt Hendrix quickly grew into a full fledged band with Greg Foster, Tyler Dusenbury, and Bernard Gann rounding out the sound. With only two albums out and a few years in the game, Liturgy brings the destruction as it slowly unfolds within their transcending sound.
Aesthethica, Liturgy’s second album, (out now on Thrill Jockey) is an elaborate construction of lawlessness and joy carefully built into a solid record. As the album progresses, so does its depth; pulling listeners deeper into the hypnotic mind altering realm of thundering beats, face melting guitar shreds, and hair raising vocals.
If you’re into it as much as you should be then come see Liturgy melt faces this Friday, December 14th at The Echoplex. Liturgy will be performing along side Wooden Shjips, Trans AM, and Man Forever; so come check it out and help celebrate Thrill Jockey’s 20th Anniversary!
