The latest clip from former IHEARTCOMIX Crush of the Week, Petite Noir just dropped, and it might just be the BEST thing we’ve seen all week. And, for those of you worried: from this point on, I will try my best not to use any puns in reference to the song’s title.
The African singer-songwriter Petite Noir (Yannick Ilunga by birth), is prepping his debut LP, La Vie Est Belle (french for Life Is Beautiful), due out in September on Domino, and the music video for the vocalist’s latest single, “Best” is out now.
It was directed by Travys Owen, and it features the singer’s muscular body glistening in the South African sun, as he runs endlessly through the country’s plains, (sure to make Franki Chan’s heart melt). It also features abstract imagery and symbolism that my American mind is too sheltered to even begin to comprehend (exhaling blue smoke whilst jumping up-and-down, WTF is art?).
See the video for yourself and try to crack its code below.
