Belgica, the new film from Oscar-nominated director Felix Van Groeningen, has already garnered positive attention since its screening at this year’s Sundance festival (where Base Camp is still happening as we speak, deets here!) Its most notable feature, the curated soundtrack by Belgium’s very own Soulwax, has been much acclaimed for its creativity and spunk, and today the duo have finally announced its official release.
The soundtrack will be out next month, on February 26th through Play it Again Sam. It’ll feature a list of eclectic songs from the fictional bands that appear throughout the movie — music that Soulwax have innovated themselves. Considering they’re known for their infamous Radio Soulwax show and the innovative live sets they do as 2ManyDJs, the soundtrack is probably nothing short of fucking awesome.
To tease the full-length release, Soulwax just dropped the very fun track “How Long” by fictional outfit The Shitz. Listen below.
And if you’re just as jealous as I am that Franki’s already seen Belgica at his Sundance travels, then maybe the trailer for the rock-venue-come-to-life movie will tide you over:
